It is equipped with a publicly accessible library and an often visited website in German, English and Spanish. Educational material is available for download. The NHRC regularly presents publications concerning human rights and is also the editorial office for the \u201cJournal of Human Rights\u201d. Furthermore they give lectures in Germany and abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span lang=\"en\">&#8230; stimulates the exchange about human rights<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The NHRC regularly invites interesting personalities for conversations about human rights and is an active cooperation partner of human rights events in Nuremberg, such as the Latin America Week, the German Human Rights Film Award or events accompanying the International Nuremberg Human Rights Award. In the recent years the NHRC has been the co-organizer of various international human rights conferences in Nuremberg.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span lang=\"en\">&#8230; conducts human rights education<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The educational team of the NHRC offers seminars at the \u201cDokumentationszentrum Reichsparteitagsgel\u00e4nde\u201d and at the \u201cMemorium Nuremberg Trials\u201d, gives guided tours through the \u201cWay of Human Rights\u201d in Nuremberg and has developed an anti-discrimination project (\u201cDiscrimination concerns us all!\u201d), which is designed for school classes, trainees and other interested groups. In Nuremberg and in the region active members and volunteers of the NHRC offer a number of workshops for various human rights issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span lang=\"en\">&#8230; advises and comments<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The expertise of the NHRC as far as general questions on human rights and human rights policy are concerned as well as their knowledge on specific human rights topics (human rights in Latin America, International criminal courts, \u201cmissing persons\u201d, social human rights etc.) is frequently asked for. Members of the NHRC serve as external experts at the German Bundestag, as a dialogue partner in ministries and as members of the local, national and international human rights committees in Nuremberg, Berlin and Geneva.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Rainer Huhle is a member of the committee of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance and a board member of the NHRC. The Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief of the UN Human Rights Council, Heiner Bielefeldt, is also a member of the NHRC.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span lang=\"en\">&#8230; interferes in human rights politics<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The NHRC is an active force at the \u201cForum Menschenrechte\u201d, the national network of German non-governmental human rights organizations. With constructive criticism the NHRC accompanies the German human rights politics, campaigns for human rights towards political decision-makers and supports local, national and international campaigns to protect human rights.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span lang=\"en\">The NHRC is borne by voluntary work<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The NHRC is headed by a five-member board, currently composed of: Rainer Huhle, Michael Krennerich (1. chairperson), Nicole Scharrer (2. chairperson), G\u00f6tz Schwanh\u00e4u\u00dfer and Alice Speck. Furthermore, the work of the NHRC is supported by the volunteer work of numerous members and dedicated interns from Germany and abroad, which are supervised by Nicole Scharrer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span lang=\"en\">Cooperation<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">We are highly appreciating any active cooperation and new ideas. Please feel free to contact us and arrange a meeting through our office!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span lang=\"en\">Internships<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">There is the possibility to complete an unpaid internship at the NHRC. The minimum duration of the internship is six weeks. Interns are required to work independently on certain topics that are specified in consultation with the board.<br \/>\nIn your letter of application please state any relevant knowledge and abilities concerning human rights, languages, computer skills etc. and explain why you are especially interested in an internship at the NHRC. Please describe your idea about an internship, especially your favorite time frame and key areas of your work. Please also include your curriculum vitae.
